The video shows the astonishing moment a chicken destroyed a traffic light when it collided with it during an unsteady landing attempt.

Dashcam footage recorded on a busy street in the city of Nanjing, in Jiangsu, China, shows the queue of vehicles patiently awaiting the green light at 10 am on February 8.

A police officer can be seen standing next to the traffic light to monitor the busy traffic.

But just moments later the video captures his astonishment as the bird unexpectedly flew inout of nowhere and collided with the traffic light, shattering it before plummeting to the ground.

The officer then approached the bird to assess the situation, but the feathered creature suddenly regained its footing and swiftly ran across the pedestrian crossing to reach the opposite side of the road.
