The Smokehouse Creek Fire, the largest fire raging in Texas, exploded to 200,000 acres on Tuesday, February 27, prompting the evacuation of parts of Hemphill and Roberts counties.

The fire that started on Monday was being fueled by gusty winds amid dry and warm conditions. Several other fires, namely the Grape Vine Creek Fire, Windy Deuce Fire, and Juliet Pass Fire, have also erupted in the state.
