Llawr-y-glyn Smithy is located at St Fagans National Museum of History, near Cardiff. The museum was founded in 1948 and is one of Europe’s leading open-air museums.

Llawr-y-Glyn is a simple single-storeyed stone-built structure, consisting of a shoeing area, the smithy itself and a stable, which was originally used to house horses awaiting shoeing. It was originally built in the late 18th century and ceased being a working smithy in 1963 and was moved to the museum in September 1970.

St Fagans Museum features over 40 original buildings from different historical periods, including houses, farms, and workshops. These buildings have been carefully reconstructed at the museum to provide a glimpse into Welsh life throughout the centuries. The museum also houses a vast collection of artifacts, tools, and objects that showcase various aspects of Welsh history and culture.
