On February 27, 2024, the intersection of Chicherina Street and Universitetskaya Embankment in Chelyabinsk, Russia, faced a flooding crisis due to a boiling water leak in the north-western part of the city. A video circulating online revealed the challenging situation as pedestrians navigated the submerged area with the help of a front-end loader, highlighting the severity of the incident. The city administration attributed the utility accident to a technological violation in the water supply networks of the Magnitogorsk Network Organization. Local residents reported that such incidents were not unprecedented. Emergency crews are actively working to pump water out of the affected wells, aiming to isolate the damaged section and rectify the situation promptly.
