A Chinese New Year celebration ceremony was held Wednesday at the Allameh Tabataba'i University (ATU) in the Iranian capital Tehran.
The event was hosted by the Chinese Language Scientific Association of the university.
The university's authorities, staff of China's embassy in Tehran, professors and students of the Chinese language department, and students of other majors, attended the event.
During the ceremony, the Chinese language students of the university performed a song in Chinese, which was followed by several speeches delivered by the university's authorities and professors.
In her brief speech, Iranian professor of Chinese language at the department Sara Almasieh said the closeness of the dates of China's Spring Festival and Nowruz (the Iranian New Year) celebrations had increased the energy and enthusiasm of the department's students for the better holding of the event.
