Croup, also known as acute laryngotracheobronchitis or laryngotracheitis, is a common respiratory disorder, and is primarily a disease of infants & toddlers.

It is characterized by a seal-like barking cough, hoarse voice or cry, and acute stridor.

Most common infective organisms responsible for croup are parainfluenza virus type 1, 2, & 3.

Adenovirus, RSV, enterovirus, coronavirus, and influenza viruses account for only a minority of cases.

In this video I discuss about the causes, pathogenesis, signs & symptoms, and diagnosis of croup.
