In a harrowing incident at Crocus City Hall, a terrorist attack has left a trail of devastation. Here's what we understand thus far:

Preliminary reports indicate that 40 individuals lost their lives, while over 130 sustained injuries during the assault.

Around 8:26 PM, five unidentified assailants unleashed gunfire within Crocus City Hall during a concert featuring the Picnic group. Emergency services promptly initiated evacuations.

At 8:33 PM, an explosion rocked the concert hall, igniting the roof and triggering its collapse, resulting in a third of the structure being engulfed in flames.

By 8:49 PM, Governor Vorobiev of the Moscow region had arrived at the scene to oversee operations.

A robust response ensued, involving SOBR and OMON units, along with 30 regional and 20 Moscow ambulance teams, fire brigades, and helicopters deployed to douse the inferno. By 10 PM, sections of the building's upper levels began to collapse.

At 9:20 PM, a secondary explosion rattled the premises.

Heightened security protocols were swiftly enacted at the capital's airports and railway stations.

Around 9:35 PM, specialized units breached the building, commencing the evacuation of casualties.

In response to the tragedy, all public events in Moscow and Lipetsk have been canceled for the weekend.

The Investigative Committee has initiated a criminal inquiry into the incident, while the Moscow region governor has confirmed 21 wounded in the Crocus shooting.

Terrorist attack in Moscow. What is known so far:

At around 20:26, five unknown people opened fire in Crocus City Hall, at which time a concert of the Picnic group was taking place there. Emergency services began evacuating people.

At 20:33 an explosion occurred in the concert hall, as a result of which the roof caught fire and the roof began to collapse. The fire consumed a third of the building.

At 20:49, the governor of the Moscow region, Vorobiev, went to the scene of the incident.

SOBR and OMON soldiers, more than 30 regional and 20 Moscow ambulance brigades, fire brigades and helicopters to extinguish the roof were sent to the scene of the incident. Around 10 p.m., the top floor of the building began to collapse.

At 21:20 a second explosion occurred in the building.

Security measures have been strengthened at the capital's airports and railway stations.

At around 21:35, special forces entered the building and the evacuation of the dead and wounded began.

All sports, cultural and other public events this weekend have been canceled in Moscow and Lipetsk.

The Investigative Committee opened a criminal case about a terrorist attack in the Moscow region, and the governor of the Moscow region reported 21 wounded as a result of the shooting in Crocus.
