Two kids 'trapped inside hot car while playing' found dead
Two kids who were accidentally trapped inside a hot car while playing were found dead five hours later.
Cousins Darriel Alibio and Marvin Bula, both toddlers aged three and two, were last seen alive playing on the street in Angeles City, the Philippines on March 22 morning.
CCTV footage shows Darriel and Marvin walking to the passenger's side of the parked black Toyota Vios.
The boys were found lifeless inside the vehicle five hours later by driver Fernham Pamintuan Supan at 1:45 pm as the parents searched for them. The boys were taken to the hospital for an autopsy.
Police Major Vicky Tamayo, OIC of the Angeles City Police Office (ACPO) Station 4 said the two boys died from suffocation.
She said: 'The autopsy report revealed asphyxia due to suffocation was the cause of death.'
However, Marvin's mum Steffany Villegas was not convinced that there was no foul play in the kids' death.
She told local media: 'My son had blood on his hands, on his shirt, and had many bruises on his body. I don't believe my son's death was an accident. The police have not investigated it thoroughly.'
Steffany said she and her family would seek assistance from the Commission on Human Rights (CHR) to look into the boys' deaths and demand another autopsy.
She added they would also like to obtain a full copy of the CCTV as the police only released a cut version of the footage. The video showed the boys walking to the other side of the car and then cut to the part where neighbours had found them dead.
Meanwhile, the police Scene of the Crime Operatives report is yet to be released, which would detail the crime scene, documentation, and examination of evidence.
