Drone footage captures how humpback whales use their flippers to communicate nonverbally.

According to the National Ocean Service, the whales use their flippers and tails to make loud slapping noises on the ocean surface. This can be a warning sign of aggression or a technique to scare schools of fish together for an easier meal.

This footage was filmed off Australia's Gold Coast.
