This is the spectacular moment a whale pod surfaced while swimming through Glacier Bay in Alaska.

Footage shows the group of killer whales diving and gliding through the water on May 1.

They can be seen emerging from the ocean, with their curved dorsal fins and arched backs breaking through the surface in graceful unison.

Several whales surfaced in sync, creating a rhythmic pattern on the water that fascinated onlookers.

Experts say this behaviour, known as 'porpoising' or synchronous swimming, is common among killer whales when they travel in coordinated groups. It helps them maintain social bonds, conserve energy, and communicate while navigating long distances in the wild.
