"Space debris" spotted over California skyline after rocket launch
Video caught the strange moment the California skyline was lit up by unidentified "space debris" following a rocket launch."
Jenna Kushi, 30, caught the bizarre scene on her phone at 1.30am in Camarillo, Ventura County, CA, on April 2.
A SpaceX rocket launched from Vandenberg Space Force Base at 7.30pm on April 1.
Reports have emerged of glittering streaks - like those in the video - appearing across the sky in Southern California in the early hours the next day.
Jenna, an ENT specialist, said: "I couldn't tell if it was some kind of rocket or shooting stars - then it just burst into a bunch of pieces. "
"It was pretty cool."
In the video, Jenna jokingly says: "It's gonna fall on us we're all gonna die" as the debris appears to ascend upwards, leaving an illuminated trail."
