Three of five men charged with assaulting woman ‘drugged by husband’ seen arriving at court
Video shows three of the five men charged with sexually abusing a woman, who was allegedly drugged by her husband over 13 years, arriving at court.
Former councillor Philip Young,
49, faces a plea and trial preparation hearing today over 56 charges against Joanne Young between 2010 and 2023.
The defendant, who served as a Conservative councillor until 2010,
was previously remanded in custody ahead of the hearing Winchester Crown Court this morning.
But five others also charged with sexual offences against Joanne over the same period appeared were bailed and were pictured arriving at the court this morning (Fri).
They include Norman Macksoni, 47. He had pleaded not guilty to possession of extreme images at an earlier hearing and faces one count of rape today.
Dean Hamilton, 47, of no fixed abode, had pleaded not guilty to one count of rape and sexual assault by penetration and two counts of sexual touching at a previous hearing.
Conner Sanderson Doyle, 31, of Swindon, faces a charge of sexual assault by penetration and sexual touching
Richard Wilkins, 61, of Swindon, also faces one count of rape and sexual touching at the hearing today.
The fifth defendant Mohammed Hassan, 37, of Swindon, was charged with sexual touching and is also yet to enter a plea.
Wiltshire Police had earlier revealed Joanne, 48, waived her legal right to anonymity so that the defendants in the case can be publicly identified.
Young, who will appear from custody, had previously been
pictured smiling with his alleged victim back in 2009, before the alleged offences, as he gave an interview about him delivering their baby at their home.
The defendant, previously of Swindon, Wilts,. but now living in Enfield,
is accused of 11 counts of rape, 11 counts of administering a substance with intent to stupefy or overpower to allow sexual activity and possession of indecent images of children.
Further charges include seven counts of sexual assault by penetration, four counts of sexual touching, 13 counts of voyeurism relating to specific videos and voyeurism on at least 200 other occasions.
He is also accused of possession of prohibited images of children, possession of extreme images – including rape, animals, death and gore – and breaching Section 1 of the Obscene Publications Act on at least 500 occasions.
Young was a former Swindon borough councillor and represented Covingham and Nythe for four years as a Conservative.
He was the Cabinet member for culture, regeneration and economic development until May 6, 2010, when it was reported he had decided to leave politics to devote more time to his family.
