STORYLINE:

The sixth session of the Hong Kong/Shanghai Cooperation Conference was held in Hong Kong on Friday, where 20 cooperation documents were signed in legal services, trade, finance, science and technology, urban development, culture and other fields.
   
John Lee, chief executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR), and Gong Zheng, Shanghai mayor and deputy Party chief, signed a Memorandum of Understanding at the conference.
   
Lee said that the conference was another important milestone in the cooperation between Shanghai and Hong Kong. Looking ahead, Hong Kong will continue to leverage its distinctive advantages of enjoying strong support of the motherland and being closely connected to the world under "one country, two systems," and work with Shanghai to develop new quality productive forces, and jointly make greater contributions to the high-quality development of the country.
   
Gong said that Shanghai and Hong Kong will take this cooperation conference as an opportunity to complement each other's strengths to achieve mutual benefit, and carry out diversified and practical cooperation, so as to make greater contributions in advancing the building of a strong country and the great cause of national rejuvenation.
   
To further consolidate the results of the cooperation conference and deepen economic and trade exchanges between Shanghai and Hong Kong, the Shanghai Municipal People's Government also held an investment promotion campaign in Hong Kong on Friday, where 18 enterprises and institutions signed eight key cooperation agreements, involving cooperation in financial services, energy investment, exhibition, industry, and research.
