On April 30, 2024, in Hebei, a peculiar new creature resembling cabbage leaves was spotted in a field.

Upon closer inspection, this medium-sized being even appeared to have a mouth, and it looked quite frightened. The unusual resemblance to common vegetables intrigued locals and prompted humorous reactions online.

One Chinese netizen joked about the creature's deceptive appearance, saying, "At first glance, it looks like there's a paper currency hidden under a cabbage leaf!"

Some netizens pointed out in the comments that this is a green-tailed silkmoth that has just hatched from its cocoon. Its wings haven't fully expanded yet, so it can't fly.

Unfortunately, the filmer found out that this moth had failed to emerge from its cocoon and had died three days later.
