A friendly prairie dog reached out to touch visitors at a university fair.

Footage shows the tiny rodent extending its front limbs between the rails of its cage so it could pat the fingers of a woman at Thammasat University in Pathum Thani province, Thailand on March 20.

The delighted animal was given a snack to enjoy and excitedly asked for more.

Fairgoer Kanyarat Kongmak said: 'The prairie dog had a huge appetite. He was so adorable.'
