On May 5th, just as a high-speed train departed from Shanxi's Jincheng Station, northern China, two female passengers engaged in a dispute over the train's sunshade curtains.

In a video capturing the incident, one seated woman repeatedly opened the curtain, while another standing passenger immediately closed it. This back-and-forth lasted for a duration of 40 minutes.

The actions of the two passengers drew disapproval from other passengers in the carriage. Some attempted to mediate the situation, urging the women to calm down and communicate effectively. However, their efforts only seemed to exacerbate the situation.

Upon the arrival of train staff, a compromise was proposed to partially open two-thirds of the curtains in hopes of resolving the dispute. Yet, neither of the two passengers were willing to compromise. Concerned about the disturbance to other passengers, the train staff escorted the women to the office of the train manager, where they finally managed to calm down.

Through the patient mediation of the train staff, the two passengers eventually reconciled. They apologized to each other and shook hands.

In response to the incident, the railway customer service hotline, 12306, stated that there are currently no specific operating regulations for sunshade curtains on high-speed trains. Passengers are encouraged to negotiate and handle such situations based on principles of mutual understanding and respect.

列车员到场后，提出开三分之二的折中方案，希望两人能和解。但两人却都不肯相让，最终怕影响其他乘客，列车员将两人带去了列车长办公室，此时她们才终于冷静下来。在列车员的耐心调解下，终于达成了和解，互相道歉并握手言和。
针对此事，铁路客服12306回应表示，目前高铁上对于遮光帘的开关，并没有具体的操作规范，乘客应基于相互理解与尊重的原则，自行协商处理。
