The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) continued military operations in many parts of the Gaza Strip, including the southern border city Rafah, as the death toll of Palestinian people continues to rise.

IDF spokesman Daniel Hagari said on Sunday that Israeli forces continued targeted operations against Hamas in Rafah.

Israeli troops destroyed several military facilities of Hamas, including underground tunnels and shafts, as military operations continued in the Gaza city's southern edge Zaytun, according to a IDF statement.

The Israeli army also air raided Jabalia and its surrounding areas in the northern Gaza Strip, and launched a ground operation there, killing a number of Palestinian militants, the statement said.

Israel will continue the operation in the Gaza Strip until it is victorious, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu vowed at the Memorial Day on Sunday.

The al-Qassam Brigades, Hamas' military wing, said on Sunday that its armed personnel exchanged fierce gunfire with the Israeli army in the eastern area of the Jebalia refugee camp.

A video released by Hamas on the same day showed armed personnel flying a drone to drop bombs on an Israeli tank near the Jebalia refugee camp.

On the same day, the al-Quds Brigade, the military wing of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad movement, said that it launched rockets at the Israeli army in the east of Rafah.

The southern city of Israel Ashkelon was attacked by rockets from the Gaza Strip on Sunday afternoon, according to the IDF statement.

The Palestinian death toll from ongoing Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip has exceeded 35,000, health authorities in Gaza said in a press statement on Sunday.

During the past 24 hours, the Israeli army killed 63 Palestinians and wounded 114 others, bringing the total death toll to 35,034 and injuries to 78,755 since the current round of Palestinian-Israeli conflict broke out last October, it said.
