Seven newborns die in Delhi hospital fire due to cylinder blast
At least seven babies were killed following a massive fire at a children's hospital in Delhi's Vivek Vihar area on Saturday night. There were a total of 12 newborns at the hospital, who were rescued and taken to another hospital. seven of them were declared dead and the rest are undergoing treatment.
The owner of the Delhi hospital and another doctor who was on duty when the fire broke out has also been arrested. The private neonatal hospital in Vivek Vihar where seven newborns died and five were injured in the blaze was operating despite the expiry of its license. It also did not have qualified doctors and no clearance from the Fire department, police said.
