The United Postal Trade Unions Front (UPTUF) is organizing a 24-hour trade union action starting tonight as a response to the postal service's inability to fill more than 6,000 existing vacancies.
UPTUF convener Chinthaka Bandara advised the Daily Mirror there's have been no postal sector recruitments since 2018.
As a result, demanding that the government and responsible authorities address the aforementioned issues, including the inability to continue in service and recruit officers to existing vacancies, the UPTUF is going to begin a 24-hour trade union action kicking off tonight.
