The astonishing video shows a young man triggering a massive explosion at a liquid propane gas (LPG) bottling plant after he accidentally triggered a leak that gave him frostbite and then severe burns when he used a hairdryer-like device to warm his hands up.

Newsflash obtained the footage as a report into the blast revealed incompetence and lack of basic safety training for the man seen in the video using propane-butane gas to fuel canisters.

This shortfall was despite the fact that he was managing enough explosive gas to destroy a large chunk of the city.
The newly released CCTV was filmed at the liquid petroleum gas (LPG) bottling plant in the city of Glogow, in Poland's Lower Silesian Voivodeship, and shows the man filling a propane-butane cylinder with no protective gloves on 24th May 2023.

But just moments later, a valve can be seen detaching from the cylinder, releasing gas into the room.
Because the rapidly expanding gas causes things to cool down, it led to the man suffering first of all frostbite, and then, seconds later when everything exploded as he tried to warm himself up, severe burns.

He still has the heat gun which is a device similar to a hairdryer that was used for thawing out valves frozen by the gas despite its potential for the heat to ignite any escaped gas.

The footage shows the man running out of the room with the apparently damaged cylinder in his hands, and incredibly, despite the gas in the room when he returns, he grabs what appears to be a hairdryer and uses it to warm his hands that had been frozen because he was not wearing gloves.

Instead of achieving the desired outcome, he sets off a massive explosion, engulfing the entire room in flames.
Because he quickly stripped of his burning clothing, the burns were not as severe as they could have been, but he is reportedly still suffering from shock from the incident and is still undergoing psychological counselling.
According to local media, the man was promptly transported to the hospital by his coworkers for urgent medical attention. He reportedly suffered both frostbite and burns.

The video was only now released by the State Labor Inspectorate in the city of Legnica, as a cautionary measure against similar incidents. They warned that there were 20 tons of gas in the warehouse which would have devastated the area if it had exploded.

Inspectorate head Jan Buczkowski stated that such incidents happen quite often and present a significant risk to the health and safety of workers.

He said that the man seen in a video was not legally employed, had not undergone any medical examination, and had been given no occupational health and safety training.

He didn't understand even the basics of risk regarding the material he was being asked to work with, and had been given no safety clothing or training on how to carry out the tasks he had been assigned.
