An extremely lucky schoolgirl dodged lightning that struck around her while dancing on the roof.

Sania Kumari, 15, wore a pink shirt and blue jeans while performing in front of the camera during a storm when the thunderbolts landed behind her in Sitamarhi, Bihar, on June 26.

Footage shows the youngster swaying when there is a flash of light and powerful lightning hitting the roof 15ft away from her. It was followed by at least four more that hit the roof of a small room behind her.

The girl quickly fled, reaching her home unscathed as thunder rumbled in the sky.

Sitamarhi received heavy rainfall this week after a long dry spell accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning.

Meanwhile, eight people have died so far in other districts in Bihar due to lightning strikes.

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar said: ‘Stay at home and stay safe in bad weather.'
