India: Rescuer carries dog to safety during severe flooding in Udupi
Udupi, India - July 09, 2024
Amidst severe flooding caused by heavy rains in southern India’s Karnataka, a heartwarming rescue has captured the attention and admiration of many.
The incident took place in the Gundibaill area situated at Thilak Road near Kalsanka of Udupi district on July 8.
Visuals showed rescue force personnel carrying a dog on his shoulders through floodwaters, showcasing a touching moment of compassion and bravery.
Speaking to Newslions, Leading Fireman of Udupi fire station, Ashwin Sanil said that along with District Fire Officer Vinayaka V. Kalgudkar, Station Officer Ravindra and Leading Fireman Sathish with his team started the rescue operation at 10 AM which went on till 8 PM.
Also, the coastal districts of Karnataka, including Udupi and Dakshina Kannada, have been experiencing widespread rain and flooding. In Udupi, floodwaters have inundated fields, homes, and roads, creating a challenging and dangerous situation for residents.
This act of kindness highlights the dedication and bravery of the rescue teams working tirelessly in the region.
