This is the amusing moment a bossy Harlequin Great Dane blocked the path of a motorcycle rider.

Wisdom, the one-year-old canine, alerted his owner about passersby on their farm and kennel, Alyang Kennels PHL, in Cavite, the Philippines, on May 29.

Footage shows the dog standing in the rider's way and barking at him.

The frightened man can be seen motionless, waiting for the dog's keeper to command it to move out of the way.

The pet owner, Russel Simbulan, said: 'Wisdom, who is a gentle giant but protective of his environment, alerts us when unknown people or visitors come to our farm. The rider hadn't met Wisdom before and was taken aback by his imposing size.'

The area is a free-range kennel where they allow giant breed dogs to grow and develop in a cage-free environment.
