07/10/2024 01:00 pm (GMT-0700) | LEONA VALLEY, Calif. – Fire is 5 acres in medium to heavy fuels with a moderate to rapid rate of spread, per copter overhead. Structures impacted within the next 20 minutes. Response upgraded to a 2nd alarm. This is now being referred to as the "Woodland Fire."

UPDATE
The fire has a potential of 50 acres in the next hour.

UPDATE
2 additional type 1 copters requested, per radio traffic.

UPDATE
The fire has spotted about 1/2 to 3/4 mile to the northeast.

UPDATE
The fire is now 25 acres, per copter. A strike team is assessing structures ahead of the fire.

UPDATE
The fire is holding at five to eight acres, per incident command. A retardant drop has stopped forward progress on the spot fire and there are no structures threatened, per air attack.

FIRIS has mapped the fire at 12.9 acres. The perimeter is viewable on the Watch Duty map. Note that perimeters are preliminary and do not reflect any structure protection efforts by firefighters on the ground.
