A protective bird bit a woman to defend its owner in eastern China.

The video was filmed in Nantong City in Jiangsu Province on May 7.

As the woman made a playful gesture towards the owner, the bird swiftly attacked, biting her hand and flapping its wings aggressively.

The filmer, who is also the bird's owner, shared that the myna, named Xiao Bage, was found during a fishing trip in 2022 with its feathers not yet fully grown.

Since being brought home, the bird has learned phrases like "hello," "congratulations," "who are you", "I am Xiao Bage," and can even laugh and offer New Year's greetings.

When people come to the owner's stall to buy pancakes, the bird also helps by introducing them as ‘three yuan a piece’.

Xiao Bage has shown remarkable loyalty, particularly to the owner's wife, never wanting to leave her side.
