Yemen: Yemenis condemn Israeli airstrikes against Hodeidah Port for impacting fuel supply
Al Hudaydah, Yemen - July 23, 2024
Residents in Al Hodeidah, Yemen condemned Israel for conducting airstrikes on the Houthi-controlled Hudaydah Port last Saturday, lamenting that the attacks have impacted the local fuel supply.
The strikes occurred on Saturday evening, severely damaging fuel storage facilities and a power plant at the Houthi-held port.
Hodeidah Port is a crucial hub for importing food, fuel, and other essential supplies to northern Yemen. The airstrikes caused a massive explosion and set off a fire in the port area.
Shortages following the attack have inhibited mobility in the region, local residents said.
Some believe that the airstrike was intentionally carried out to target Yemen's economy but expressed determination to withstand the pressure.
Israel's airstrikes came a day after the Houthis claimed responsibility for an explosive drone strike in the Israeli city of Tel Aviv that killed one person and injured 10 others, according to Israeli media.

The people of Yemen are going to remain patient no matter how much they try to humiliate us. The Yemeni people will never be humiliated or become depressed and will continue to march forward, no matter what happens.";
