Alert bystanders and police lift car to rescue child trapped underneath in China
On July 27, a heart-stopping incident occurred outside a hospital in Dongguan, southern China, when a young child wandered out of sight from their parents and into a vehicle's blind spot, resulting in the child being trapped underneath the car. The quick actions of police officers and bystanders led to a dramatic rescue, sparing the child from serious harm.
Surveillance footage captured the harrowing moment when the child, unnoticed by their mother, dashed onto a busy road. The child, concealed in the blind spot of a white car, was inadvertently swept underneath as the vehicle moved forward.
Fortunately, police officers who were nearby witnessed the unfolding danger. They swiftly signaled the car to stop with their sirens and rushed to the scene. Simultaneously, about a dozen concerned citizens quickly gathered, working together to lift the car off the child.
Thanks to the collective effort, the child was safely retrieved from under the vehicle by the mother. A subsequent medical examination revealed that the child had only sustained minor scrapes and was otherwise unharmed.
The video was provided with permission from local media.
