Storm Triggers Flash Flooding in Jersey City

Heavy rain triggered flash flooding in parts of northeast New Jersey late Tuesday, August 6, as strong thunderstorms moved through the region, prompting multiple water rescues in the area, local media reported.

Meteorologist Bill Goodman of the National Weather Service confirmed that a super-soaker storm dumped about two to three inches of rain an hour.
He said: 'Between 4 pm and 7 pm is when it was really the worst. That's rush hour.'
The weather agency also said on Wednesday morning that heavy rainfall was caused by a cold front moving south.
The chance of showers is still possible in the area on Wednesday.
