STORYLINE:

The Longji Rice Terraces in south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region are also known as the "Dragon's Backbone."

The rice terraces got the name as they resemble a dragon's scales while the summit of the mountain range looks like the backbone of the dragon.

Most of them were built some 650 years ago, along the slope from the riverside up to the mountaintop.
