Filipino devotees celebrated the religious feast of Saint Martha of Pateros.

Mariah Manuel and her family witnessed young men and women dancing the fandango while parading the statue of the saint in Manila, Philippines, on June 27.

Footage shows locals moving to the beat of a live band in the street, synchronizing their sways with each other.

The festival is celebrated with lively music and dance in the streets. Sta. Marta de Pateros is commemorated twice a year, once in February during the town's festival and again on July 29 in line with the Catholic feast day.

In the 1800s, Saint Martha was prayed to for help in removing crocodiles that were eating the ducks, which were the town's main source of livelihood. Pateros is known for balut, a fertilised duck egg and a famous Filipino delicacy.

The town also experienced an apparition of the biblical Saint Martha of Bethany in the 19th century.
