A "hidden gem" mid-century mansion owned by golfer and Masters winner Bob Goalby is for sale for $2.5million - and it comes with its own fairways and greens."

Situated in 55 acres and 15 minutes from downtown St. Louis, the four-bedroom home is "one of the premiere examples of mid-century modern homes"."

Perched on a secluded hill, it was designed by famed architect Frank Lloyd Wright, who began construction in 1956, before the project was finished by Charles E. King, who lived in it.

Estate agents marketing the property in Belleville, Illinois, say the sunset views from the home are so stunning they "almost don't look real"."

Bob Goalby, a 14 time PGA winner converted some of the 55 acres into his own private fairways and greens.

Jon Shirrell, a global real estate advisor for Shirrell Homes, said: "The sunsets are just stunning. They almost don't look real sometimes. "

"You see the St. Louis Arch from so many places both inside and outside the house."

It's the first time it's been on the market in over 50 years - the home has been owned and lived in by the same family - The Goalbys - since 1968.

Bob and Arlene Goalby raised their family there, and moved out in 2023.

Jon added: "So many people who have lived in the St. Louis area for their whole life have never heard of, or seen, the home or it's views."

There is a 'floating' living room, meaning there is no barrier between the living room and the kitchen and dining area.

Jon said: "This allows for very unique views of the space and allows light to flow through the main living space."

"The 'floating' gazebo as well as 'floating' bunk beds in one of the children's rooms continue this theme through the home."

Surrounding the property is a terraced patio and a pool.

Jon said: "The home takes on 'different personalities' as the light changes throughout the day and evening."
