Naughty pet hamster chews through doorframe in China
This is the moment a naughty pet hamster chewed through a doorframe in China.
Tao Zi, a four-month-old bi-coloured hamster, was spotted gnawing on the reddish-brown wooden door in Xinxiang, Henan, on September 2.
Footage shows the rodent relentlessly munching, with a pile of wood shavings on the floor causing the door to wobble.
The pet owner was in disbelief at Tao Zi's behaviour and joked that her pet seemed to have come from a demolition team.
Hamsters' teeth continuously grow throughout their lives. Gnawing on objects helps to wear down their teeth and keep them at a manageable length. Their teeth can become overgrown, leading to potential health problems if they don't chew on things.
