Myanmar's first World Robot Olympiad (WRO) was held Sunday in Yangon, the nation's largest city. The competition drew over 50 participants from 15 teams across the country.
Participants aged 8 to 19 were able to showcase their robotics skills and earn the chance to compete internationally, organizer Eddi told Xinhua on Sunday. The event featured two main categories: Robo Mission and Future Innovators.
Two teams from the Robo Mission category and one team from the Future Innovators category will be selected to represent Myanmar at the WRO 2024 International Final in Turkey this November, Eddi said.
The competition was not just a local milestone but a gateway to global recognition. The participants, said Eddi, had the opportunity to enhance their presentation skills by creatively preparing projects on diverse topics.
Eddi added that the champions will be able to display their skills on the international stage, where they can share knowledge and experience teamwork at a global level.
