Police arrest 41 youngsters at Thai pool villa sex party
Police arrested dozens of youngsters at a pool village that they had descended on for an alleged orgy that was organised online.
Officers raided the luxury villa in Ratchaburi province after the owner raised concerns about several rowdy renters he believed were using hard drugs inside on October 1.
Dramatic footage shows cops barging into the house and arresting the suspects, including one who allegedly tried to escape over a wall.
District chief Sutthipong Phutchanthra said 22 men and 19 women were detained, and various drugs including ketamine, ecstasy, the date rape drug GHB, and Rohypnol were also found. Police also seized a .45mm pistol, a 7.65mm pistol, and some ammunition from the scene.
Sutthipong said: 'Drug tests were performed to determine which of them consumed drugs.'
The alleged swingers - many of whom were in their late teens and early 20s - said they had arranged the orgy on the Line messaging app and Facebook. The event was advertised as 'a party where they could drink alcohol and dance'.
Authorities said the teens will all be charged with jointly possessing drugs without permission.
Some of them will be charged with possessing firearms without permission, carrying firearms in public without permission, and having unregistered firearms.
They were taken to the Ratchaburi City Police Station for further legal action.
According to Thai law, carrying Category I drugs, including LSD and ecstasy, for 'disposal or possession for the purpose of disposal', has a maximum punishment of the death sentence or life in prison. The most severe punishments are reserved for those who 'produce of import' the substances, while simply possessing the drugs can land offenders in jail for up to 10 years.
Dealing the lesser Category 2 drugs, which include cocaine and ketamine, can carry a life sentence while possession alone has a punishment of five years.
