In a display of exemplary courage, Officer Woods of the Broken Arrow Police Department played a pivotal role in apprehending Rafael Martin Sangines, a man accused of heinous acts of domestic violence and kidnapping. The incident unfolded this week, marking a significant success in community safety efforts.

The ordeal began when Sangines allegedly assaulted a woman with an AR-15, confined her against her will, and threatened lethal consequences if she sought help. Miraculously, the victim managed to escape and alert authorities. Her injuries were severe, including a broken arm and damage to her knees, underscoring the brutality of her captivity.

As the investigation intensified, so did the threats from Sangines, who vowed to hunt down the victim, promising violence to anyone obstructing his path, including law enforcement. His readiness to engage in a shootout with officers painted a picture of a dangerous individual willing to escalate to deadly force.

Officer Woods, stationed to monitor Sangines' apartment, spotted the suspect heading towards his truck, armed with more than just intent. The officer, with backup, initiated a pursuit that culminated in Sangines' arrest. Inside his vehicle, authorities discovered a loaded AR-15 rifle and pistol, validating the severity of the threats he had issued.
