US, Bakersfield: Shafter 2 In Critical Condition With Mini Van Submerged In 2-Vehicle Crash
Bakersfield, United States - November 04, 2025 11/03/2025 05:52 pm GMT-0800 SHAFTER, Calif. – The Kern County Fire Department and California Highway Patrol responded to a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Lerdo Highway and Sacroni Avenue Monday evening. A white pickup truck was involved in the incident, and a minivan was found partially submerged in a nearby farm pond. The driver of the pickup truck sustained minor injuries. In contrast, the occupants of the minivan, which was in the water, suffered life-threatening injuries. First responders administered CPR to one patient, who was transported in critical condition, while the other occupant was conscious and breathing but with major injuries. The California Highway Patrol confirmed that the minivan was traveling northbound on Sacroni Avenue when it ran a stop sign and collided with the truck. The impact sent the truck into a power pole. The crash remains under investigation, and it is unclear if drugs or alcohol were involved.
