This unit, an integral part of the Air Force Reserve's 403rd Wing stationed at Keesler Air Force Base, Mississippi, undertook the flight with one critical mission: to gather vital weather data for the National Hurricane Center's forecasts.

Flying into a hurricane is not for the faint-hearted.
