Argument between couple leads to wife placing young children on air-con unit on 23rd floor
On October 9, in Longyue Community, Luolong District, Luoyang City, Henan Province, a distressing family incident occurred. During an argument with her husband, a wife shockingly placed their two children on the outdoor air conditioning unit of their 23rd-floor apartment, using this as a way to escalate the conflict. This reckless act immediately sparked widespread attention and condemnation from the public.
According to a video taken by a witness, the couple was having a heated argument at home. In a moment of emotional breakdown, the wife pushed their two children (a boy and a girl) onto the air conditioning unit outside the window.
The children were sitting on the narrow, unprotected platform high above the ground, their legs dangling in the air, and they were crying in terror. Meanwhile, the wife sat on the windowsill, continuing her argument with her husband, seemingly indifferent to the children’s safety.
Residents in the community quickly reported the situation to the police and called the fire department. Firefighters arrived promptly and initiated a tense rescue operation. Thanks to their efforts, both children were successfully saved and brought back to safety.
Legal experts pointed out that the couple’s actions could be deemed illegal, as they endangered the children’s health and safety, and the parents may face civil or even criminal charges.
Local representatives from the Women’s Federation responded by stating that they are continuing to investigate the matter, and public security and judicial departments have become involved. They assured the public that they would closely follow the case and ensure the protection of the children’s rights.
