The annual Amsterdam Canal Race (Grachtenrace) was held Saturday in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
This year's race featured over 130 teams competing along a nearly 25km route through the historic canals.
Participants navigated more than 70 bridges while skillfully avoiding excursion boats and other vessels.
The canal rowing race has a history dating back to 1951, when it was first organized as a leisurely canal tour for rowing enthusiasts.
The race was formally established as a competitive event in 1986 and has since then been held each year on the second Saturday of October.
Over the decades, the race has grown from 35 teams to over 130 teams and has become an iconic annual tradition in Amsterdam.
