STORYLINE:
The opening ceremony of the 13th Zhengzhou International Shaolin Wushu Festival and China Zhengzhou International Shaolin Wushu Competition was held in Dengfeng, central China's Zhengzhou city on Saturday.
30,000 kung fu kids perform Shaolin Kung Fu on a 13-kilometer route from the Shaolin Temple to the opening site. More than 7,000 actors participated in the opening ceremony, and kung fu elements were present throughout the opening ceremony.
A total of 2560 athletes from 56 countries and regions registered to participate in the Zhengzhou International Shaolin Wushu Competition. The Zhengzhou International Shaolin Wushu Festival, launched in 1991, is a large-scale comprehensive festival integrating Wushu, tourism and cultural exchanges.
The Shaolin Wushu Festival has been successfully held for 12 sessions, which has had a profound impact on the world and has become an important link to connect Wushu lovers all over the world.
