Footage shows the chaotic scene as the two families threw chairs and punched each other in Sambhal, Uttar Pradesh, India, on Sunday, October 27.
Reports say the altercation started during the distribution of dates, or 'chuhare,' with the bride's family giving them to the groom's side, known as the Baaratis.
Tensions rose when a member of the bride's family allegedly tried to take a packet of dates.
This act angered the bride's family, leading to violence against the person who took the dates.
The situation quickly escalated as both sides began exchanging blows and punches.
Police were called in to control the situation.
