A woman was slowly lowered from a platform at China's 'bungee jump for cowards'.

The holidaymaker enjoyed a unique version of the activity where, instead of a thrilling free fall, she experienced a gentle descent.

Footage shows an employee carefully lowering her toward the calm waters of Shiyan Lake in Changsha, Hunan on October 31. She then posed for a picture, smiling as she enjoyed the experience.

Unlike typical high-adrenaline bungee jumps, this slower approach allowed participants to take in the moment without an intense rush, making it ideal for those who want a milder thrill.

The bungee jump for cowards became a hit earlier this year when locals who were afraid of jumping began getting slowly lowered down instead.

Staff said that rraditional bungee jumping involves jumping from high altitudes and experiencing a rapid free fall, which can be too intense for some individuals.

But the 'coward's version' offers a modified experience by lowering the height, adjusting the rope's elasticity, and controlling the descent speed.

This allows participants to enjoy the sensation of free fall while maintaining a sense of safety and calm. Staff explained that during the jump, participants are smoothly lowered by a safety rope without bouncing, making the experience less daunting.

Staff said the aim of this new project is to cater to those who are intrigued by bungee jumping but deterred by fear at the thought of plunging toward the ground at enormous speed attached just to a rubber rope.

Since its introduction, the scenic spot has seen a significant increase in visitors eager to try the gentler form of bungee jumping.
