A Chinese worker climbed to his feet after being knocked over by a truck in China.

Footage shows the pedestrian being struck by a reversing heavy-duty dump vehicle on National Highway 215 in Jiuquan City, Gansu Province, on November 8.

The incident occurred near the 350th-kilometre marker as the driver, Liu, backed his truck from east to west across a pedestrian pathway.

Traffic police investigations revealed that Liu failed to check properly behind his vehicle before initiating the reverse manoeuvre, resulting in a collision with a pedestrian crossing from south to north.

The accident injured the worker, and Liu has been held fully responsible for the mishap.

Local traffic authorities are urging drivers to exercise extreme caution when reversing.

The traffic police said: 'Motorists must ensure to observe the conditions behind their vehicle and confirm it is safe before reversing.'
