Hezbollah media chief Mohammad Afif claimed on Monday that the Israeli army was still unable to occupy any village in southern Lebanon, according to the National News Agency.

SOUNDBITE (Arabic): MOHAMMAD AFIF, Hezbollah media chief
"We are talking about the battlefield of resistance, honor, pride and loyalty, on which the honorable resistance fighters through their blood have proven the enemy is still unable to occupy a single Lebanese village."
Afif said that as long as Israeli forces were unable to advance by land and gain actual control, they would never achieve their political goals, and the people of the north would never return to their houses.
Afif denied allegations by Israeli officials about Hezbollah's missile stockpile declining to around 20 percent of its actual capabilities.
"We confirm again that the resistance fighters, especially on the front lines, have enough weapons, equipment, and supplies for a long war that we are preparing for on all levels."
Responding to the Israeli saying that diplomatic efforts to broker a ceasefire in Lebanon have progressed, Afif said no official ceasefire proposal has been conveyed to the group.
"If you hear about political negotiations for a ceasefire, the real reason is the battlefield and the resilience of the resistance," he said
Afif also emphasized the solid relationship between Hezbollah and the Lebanese National Army. "The relationship was and will remain so," Afif said.
"The army and the resistance are both defending Lebanon and the Lebanese each in its own way and capabilities," he added.
Since Sept. 23, the Israeli army has intensified its air strikes on Lebanon in an escalation of conflict with Hezbollah.
In early October, Israel initiated a ground operation across its northern border into Lebanon.
