U.S. fighter jets carried out an attack on Iranian-backed Houthi rebels in the Red Sea.

The Houthis launched a barrage of at least eight drones, five anti-ship ballistic missiles, and three cruise missiles, targeting the USS Stockdale and USS Spruance.

Despite Houthi claims of striking the USS Abraham Lincoln aircraft carrier with cruise missiles, Pentagon officials denied any such attack on the vessel.

Pentagon spokesman Major General Pat Ryder stated that U.S. warships intercepted the missiles and drones, resulting in no damage or casualties.

The attack followed U.S. strikes on multiple Houthi weapons storage facilities in Yemen.

F-35Cs were reportedly among the aircraft involved in the strikes, marking what is believed to be the first combat mission for the C variant of the fifth-generation stealth fighter.

The U.S. has also conducted a series of strikes against targets linked to Iran in Syria.

Central Command Commander General Michael Eric Kurilla issued a stern warning, emphasizing that the U.S. would continue defending its personnel and allies against further aggression.
