The China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC) announced Thursday the completion of a floating installation for Bozhong 26-6 oilfield. This installation is part of the phase one project's central platform and marks significant progress in the construction of the world's largest metamorphic rock oilfield.
Bozhong 26-6 oilfield is located in the southern waters of the Bohai Sea, about 170 kilometers from north China's Tianjin Municipality.
The oilfield's proven oil and gas reserves exceed 200 million cubic meters.
