This the moment a model was hit by a huge wave in the middle of a photoshoot and dragged underwater.

Kate Loshkareva, 27, was taking part in a photoshoot with fellow model Shayla welch, 25, in Palos Verdes, California, USA.

Kate decided to get closer to the water for her next shot and climbed across rocks.

But the decision quickly backfired when a large wave rushed upwards and threw her off balance.

Despite her attempts to cling on to nearby rocks, Kate was dragged into the water below.

Seven long minutes passed until she reappeared and called out from a nearby cave.

She was located a few minutes later, only having suffered a few scrapes and bruises.

Shayla, a content creator based in Los Angeles, said: "There were multiple people panicking when she was taken by the wave. "

"She was gone for seven minutes so I called the cops for rescue. "

"Turns out she was swept by the wave into a cave and was able to climb out from there."

"The photoshoot ended at that point the model had scratches and bruises so we went home."

"We were all very shaken up but happy she was okay."

The incident happened on September 23, 2023.
