Tegucigalpa, Honduras - October 21, 2024 Honduran President Xiomara Castro said Wednesday that she expects her country to maintain economic growth of between 3.5 and 4.5% in 2025. In a message to Hondurans on the occasion of the arrival of 2025, Castro said that the Central Bank of Honduras has generated adequate policies in the exchange market, and that in this new year "we hope that our economy will continue to show a favorable evolution of 3.5% to 4.5%." She added that the international risks and challenges to which Honduras will be subjected in 2025 include the imperial intensification of military and geopolitical conflicts, and the increase by the United States and Europe of protectionist policies and their impact on world trade.
