This is a classic Filipino family reunion game often played in pairs, usually by partners or couples. The goal is for the two players to pop a balloon placed between them using force and coordination.

The game was organized by our group of cousins and generously sponsored by my mom’s sister, Tita Kler, who currently resides in Israel. The winning prize was ₱500 (Philippine Pesos).

In this video, several titos and titas participated, but the highlight was the pair of my father’s sister, Tita Eva, and her partner, his brother, Tito Joven. Fueled by excitement, my Tito used a bit too much force in an attempt to pop the balloon. To add to the chaos, the flexible and unstable monoblock chair gave way, causing my Tita to fall to the ground.

Although they didn’t win the game, they were rewarded ₱100 as a consolation prize for their effort and the laughter they brought to everyone.
