A balloon-popping game went wrong when the chair broke from one of the players' weight.

The youngsters formed two teams racing to pop all the inflatables when the plastic monobloc collapsed in Bulacan, the Philippines on January 8.

Footage shows a lad jumping high and launching on his friend's lap aiming to flat out the balloon.

However, the impact and their combined weight were too much for the furniture, which gave way.

One of their classmates, Jefferson Pagdanganan, said: 'At first, everyone was caught off guard, but the initial surprise quickly turned into shared laughter as we all found the situation amusing. In the end, the first team claimed victory.'

The game broke two chairs, with some of the youngsters having minor injuries after the party.
